How to calculate how many drinks you will need to function It is very easy to over or under supply of glasses for your event or function. Often you are not sure of the number of participants and you may be tempted to cut a middle number of glasses.
Or perhaps you will say - 100 people, 100 glasses - easy! The problem is that drinks people change, moving from red to white wine, prefer seltzer water as the evening draws to a close - especially if they are driving. How many times have the staff had the function of collecting lenses and sped up the team to the kitchen to wash and dry quickly returns before they run out at the bar?
How many drinks do you order? about two times more than your guests - but that depends on what you drink - In the next section we look at what could be and how to choose the quantities of glasses for different types of beverages may be consumed, style the event and the type of clients you expect to be present at your event.
Some influences on the requirements of glassware?
Expand a little on the subject have enough glasses and glass types to your function! There are some major influences to a function or an event which normally give you an example on the number and types of glasses, you must provide. The two biggest influences are, champagne will be served (and is it in French)? and the beer bottle is provided?
Let us start with the beer. If you are serving beer when you're more than likely wait a contingent good guy on your guest list. Not that women do not drink beer - but they do drink less frequently and in smaller quantities than the guys. Similarly beer drinkers in Australia (men and women) drink more than likely the bottle - even at events chic - if you need glasses whiskey comes down considerably.
IMPORTANT: If you are not in Australia, then apply the habits of your country in these calculations. For countries where beer is usually drunk from a glass, you will DOUBLE highball calculations below.
Champagne. Turning the piece here, your champagne drinkers will be primarily but not exclusively women. Now, why "question French Champagne? Of course any man or woman will tell you that French champagne can be Champagne if it comes from the region of Champagne in France - It's true! - But whatever and if the quality is generally considered visible or not - if it is French champagne - your drinking champagne for the evening will remain on this drink for longer, before taking another drink - wine, for example ( often white wine) - and of course, that means you need more champagne glasses (flutes). Just an additional note - if the quality of champagne is good, then more of these gentlemen to drink too much - again, more champagne flutes!
So where are we in terms of actual numbers? Well 100 people for an event where champagne is served, we went from 30 to 40 long (mineral water, soft drinks, etc.), 50 to 60 champagne flutes (but 70 when the quality is very good) and 50 wine glasses , who will answer for men who prefer wine or switch to wine (usually red) after beer and women who move in white wine after champagne.
No champagne? Then 30 to 40 elongated as before and 70 wine glasses. Remember a few jugs of water (2-4) and lots of ice. It is good to have lemon wedges handy for sparkling mineral water too. Customers are particularly grateful to the late evening.
