Tours of wine country ... bus tour or simply lead us? We're going to San Francisco in October and want to go into a wine country. The bus tours worth the money? or should we simply drive? Are Yountsville Napa and a good sampling? Thank you!
Tour Bus. You will not have to worry about drinking and driving so everyone can enjoy. Some areas are off the road and can take a psot ot get everything there. What's more fun than sitting in A / C comfort of relaxing while someone else is driving? "
I went to Monterey County wines myself .. but I'm predjudiced, I saw there.

I agree with the first answer ... get the BUS !!!!!!! You'll all be glad you do after the trip. In fact, try to get a good group of friends to come with you and share the cost. Enjoy.
The Wine Train is too beautiful - Napa Valley Wine Train
The bus tours are very good, I used to drive there with someone, but I live in SF so it's easier. With the bus you do not have to worry about drinking and driving, and who wants to go to wine country and no wine.
The drive is nice, but if someone will be a designated driver.
Hello,
I prefer to drive even though you have the chance to see some wineries you up.
To do this, if you limit to a maximum of 4 wineries, tasting more is anyway not possible (unless your goal was to get drunk rather than taste).
My first stop usually takes me a good deli to get food to go and have a nice picnic in a vineyard that authorize the premises (for example, Gloria Ferrer Caves Champain, you have a wonderful view thence to the Carneros district).
Here are some suggestions for wineries in the Napa Valley to visit:
Clos Duval red wines
Joseph Phelps, white wines, requires travel and tour, but then you get the best tour of Napa and great wines
Spring Mountain Wineries, you might recognize the house and its surroundings from a TV series 80th
Charles Krug, one of the oldest areas and also a great tour
Sattui, a caterer in Nice and the street there is a berth, but I forgot the name
Remember, you should be sipping and tasting, so if you make 4 wineries for a day and eat (cheese, meats, bread, etc.) then you should not get into any trouble.
Enjoy the day
Ina
