Wine Country Map

Wine Country MapCan you walk between the wineries in all areas of Napa or Sonoma Valley Wine Country?

Planning to visit the wine country in Northern California this summer. We do not want to drive for obvious reasons and are hoping to avoid the planned shuttle visits. From maps, it seems there are several caves in areas with 8-10 a mile or two on the other. They are mainly connected by roads, which I suppose is not exactly pedestrian, but is it possible to make a trip to such an area, then walk among the vineyards at our own pace? This seems an obvious question, but I have not really seen anything online.

(I read about "Trek" wine tours planned that the visit of a few wineries and walks between the two, we are not looking for that.)

these sites are very useful. Take a look at them and even you can contact them and ask them whether it is appropriate for you to walk and take a tour of vineyards. I think it would be fun and simple and excitement. Just make sure you do not you exhausted, so can not have fun in the basement. If possible go to the cellar Robert Mundavi. he is my favorite producer and very informative. taste different types of vines and a shop for all things cellar it.
Enjoy and I hope my info. helps.

Yes, you can walk to some of the others, but I have a better idea. Rent a bike and do it that way. You can rent a bike in Calistoga and they will give you a map of several wineries, you can cycle to. Several wineries are within 5 miles of biking area. The town of Yountville also offers this service. Check online Calistoga Bike Shop for some ideas on how this works.

Healdsburg. There is a place that has maybe 5 wine tasting rooms within walking distance (city center just outside). Camellia Cellars is one of the vineyards here:

Best bet is to invite a non-drinker in turn and they can be SD.
ps-wineries are generally very welcoming for designated drivers and give them free soft drinks.

Generally, you need to drive, but you can take bus No. 10 VINE ($ 1.50) and jump from one to another, each plot is great and no road to walk.

Stop at St. Helena, Napa, Yountville, Calistoga
