Viking Drinking Horn

Viking Drinking HornThe secret to Sprint business: Taming the Viking for a high-effort consistency

What was your intention to stay motivated when distractions negative or low priority occur? How can you avoid giving after some of your income generating activities (phone calls, emails, marketing effectiveness etc.) did not show the expected return on investment effort? Do you think your daily activity, is more like a marathon arduous long-distance rather than a series of sprints controlled? At the end of this exercise, you will be equipped to create an action plan based on a review of internal nature, which not only allow you to answer these questions, but when running, has been proven to increase productivity.

We must understand that our business personalities are composed of two major driving forces. It has been said that the first part of our makeup is responsible for our intelligent and cerebral qualities. The draw back is that this quality alone is considered low when it comes to implementing the plan of action he has been responsible for creating. He has no passion, drive or one of your competitive "win at all costs" mentality.

Across the spectrum of the second part of our makeup is actually in charge of implementation of the initiatives taken by the other component. He is responsible for our passion, competitiveness and desire to divide and conquer "we take on the challenges that lie ahead on the road. This is probably the driving force behind why we have become business owners in the first place. Unfortunately, they also want instant gratification and is harder to impose its will on the other. The dominant side was compared to the Viking chief "Thor", which according to folk legend, history would conquer, destroy and loot while having little patience for delayed gratification and sacrifice yourself.

The problem is that our entrepreneurs 'Thor' side is very strong and tends to dominate our more responsible, less impulsive side of our disciplined behavior. When the sun and you've reached 82 and the challenges that prevented you from doing any of the goals we prepared the night before your "Thor" next time you wonder how you will submit to all the wants you do some strategic planning - the golf course. It will start sabotaging your efforts by talking with less energy and give up quicker because your "Thor" side wants to do something more rewarding and fun. When you do what you're going to do for the day 2:00 Thor is back and relax or make more pleasant tasks, rather than those that require more effort. When it is Friday morning and you were above your average week, Thor justifies emotionally instead of checking up on the phone and working to get a boost next week. We've all been there, but how do we tame this young driver of our success? We tame it by making him work for our intellectual side.

Thor wants satisfaction that we give him satisfaction ....... but not until we do something that we need strong competitive nature to lead us to achieve. True, we use the weaknesses of his nature against him, holding hostage until he gives us what we want! In fact, the rewards really do not need to be big at all!

Here is a perfect example of a company which is the sales force with whom I worked to increase their productivity. After going through my training on this subject, I began working with a young sales rep who recently experienced the birth of her daughter first. He liked to go home and spend time with his wife and children, beautiful, but found it became increasingly difficult to focus in the field of sales. His Viking was sabotaged him. Sometimes he would just give, go home early and spend the rest of the day with them. It did not take very long before he realized that giving in Thi.
