Can I use red sparkling wine instead of the normal red wine in a recipe? I just opened a bottle of red wine that I had lying around and to my surprise, it is sparkling. I was going to drink tonight, and use the rest of tomorrow in a pasta sauce. Now (and this may sound a bit ridiculous) is that the sparkling wine is having no effect on the sauce? I do not want my dinner to taste sparkling!
It will be fine. The excitement will cook right out.
Definitely taste first to make sure that the wine has turned sour because of the cork compromise
No, because this kind of thing does not exceed a sparkling wine cooler, it isn't real wine. For cooking you need the real deal ...
Do not seal the bottle and the wine will lose its effervescence .... sorted .. no problem will go well for cooking
