Quit Drinking and do not have cancer. Alcoholics are in great danger We all know the risks of alcohol abuse, and it seems that all researchers from week to week are finding more evidence of harm caused by alcohol abuse.
Alcoholics with cirrhosis are at risk of cognitive decline of dementia praecox ( The risk of brain damage ) malnutrition, hepatitis, liver, heart disease and of course for a variety of cancers. Add to the list of known alcohol-related cancers, Canadian researchers last week was added cancers of the larynx, esophagus and oral cavity with a long list of cancers of alcohol influence.
If you drink a lot, you are not likely to live as long, and you're much more likely to have cancer.
But it's not totally dark, and as a real positive note the same researchers, who announced the new alcohol-related cancers has also revealed that for people who can stop drinking, their risk of cancer decreases slowly and after 2 or 3 decades, the cancer risk is not higher than for those who never drank to excess.
Well, like smoking, if you can stop drinking at a young enough age, you can save yourself many health problems.
When researchers examined the cancer rates of people who had stopped drinking, they noted that after a few years, the risk of cancer has begun to decline long stable, but for the first year or so, people who stop drinking was actually a much higher rate of cancer. What seems confusing at first, until the researchers explain that too many people do not stop until already feeling the first symptoms of cancer and painful, and this is reflected in high rates of cancer initially for one year for patients newly sober.
The message is clear, do not wait until you drinking causes physical pain before asking for help.
Women are especially at risk for chronic effects of excessive alcohol consumption, and in addition to suffering higher rates of cirrhosis, heart disease and mental declines, they also show an increase of nearly 50% risk of breast cancer.
Like smoking, if you drink a lot, you must stop, and if you can not you should get professional help. Life is too short to waste your years on this earth suffering through the pain of addiction, and ultimately reduce your life expectancy with painful and deadly. There are treatments available for those most committed to change and sobriety.
Do not wait until it's too late, get help now and start to better health and a happy future of sobriety. Millions to stop drinking each year, there is no reason why you can not too.
