Plastic Drinking Straws

Please do not use plastic flexible straw or bottle caps, for cockatiels love to chew.
They swallow the plastic and it lodged in their intestines and they can die. Be very careful when buying toys for your birds, because the soft rubber toys are not safe for birds. Rope toys should not be used or long and moppy apparently because a bird can do is the head or feet tangled in the chain or rope.

The birds love to chew. It is possible that the bird can "bite" a piece of plastic stuck in his throat, choke and die. The best thing is to buy a toy from a place like PetSmart.
