Libby Drinking Glasses

Libby Drinking GlassesIf you want to get pregnant, do not eat canned food

Bette Dowdell

What in the world, you might ask, does eating canned food have to do with pregnancy? Well, it's a risk. As something that comes to drink in a can.

You see, to prevent corrosion, coat the inside of business food and beverage plastic containers with bisphenol A (BPA), which, despite their denials, seeps into the content. BPA wreaks havoc with reproduction, do a number on the ovaries that affects the normal ovulation, and being a pest dreams of equality of opportunity, lowering sperm counts. And if you overcome these obstacles, you can have a baby of low weight at birth, with all the problems that may result.

How is this possible? BPA mimics estrogen in our body, which meets our natural estrogens and throws the whole endocrine system for a large loop in time. In addition to low sperm count, men can develop breast and prostate cancer, the boys across the life low testosterone, puberty girls little experience so that their age is still one figure, while women get to deal with PMS, and the difficulties and menopause.

BPA also impairs learning, increases your chances of obesity, messes with your immune system and predisposes you to heart disease, cancer, liver damage and diabetes. And I could go on.

And I'm probably talking about you. A study by the CDC (1988-1994) found BPA in the urine of 95% of those tested.

Although the potential health risks of BPA in surface began the 1930s and has accelerated since 1997, huge with over 100 studies from the FDA says BPA is just swell, as safe as possible.

But the bad news began to trickle, and canning companies have started moving away from BPA. Yeah for them! Do not you love when companies respond to customer concerns?

The chemical companies that make good money with BPA, do not like the idea without BPA. In June 2009, their lobbyists are gathering in Washington to develop an action-cons. They decided to convince young mothers and students that BPA was safe, using, preferably, a young model pregnant. And they came with a list of intimidation tactics to convince consumers that the loss of BPA would be a disaster. They ended up icing the cake with a diabolical cynicism decision to focus on minorities and the poor, apparently believing they would be easy marks.

Your reply to cynical money-grabbing is simple: take away their market and place them outside the company EPS.

Talking about how people like you can do.

For BPA of canned food and drinks, you can buy fresh or frozen, not canned, food. And keep calling companies to express your concerns BPA. They will move quickly once they hear enough people. Here are some figures:
aec Del Monte is at 800-543-3090
aec Nestle USA (Libby, etc.) is 800-225-2270
Pepsi aec 914-253-2000
aec Coke at 800-438-2653
aec Google all the other names you see in your pantry, get a number (or e-mail) from their website and tell them to abandon BPA.

Unfortunately, we also encounter of BPA in plastics. plastic baby bottles, for example, because we obviously want to feed our babies the equivalent of some birth control pills per day. use glass bottles for baby.

Plastic wrap is more than the BPA. Do not have anything to do with it, and for heaven's sake, do not even think about using it in the microwave oven where the heat creates massive leaching into your food.

And there's more! plastic juice, soda and bottled water is generally contain BPA or phthalates, another plastic disastrous. plastic pots, too, even pots used for nutritional supplements. Check the bottom of plastic bottles, jars and other containers for the number in the triangular recycling code. 1, 3 or 7 is bad. 2, 4 or 5 is acceptable. 6 is polystyrene, which is.
