How do you know about kosher wines? If you're Jewish, you may be very familiar with the term, which refers to wines that are made in accordance with Jewish dietary law that covers wines. Jewish dietary law mostly covers foods that are strictly forbidden under the law and because these foods are not generally used in wine production, many brands and vintages can be technically considered kosher wines. For most, these wines are produced under the supervision and strict code of a rabbinical council.

Most today consider the best kosher wines to those made in Israel. While few people see Israel as a producer of fine wines, noted that the Mediterranean climate is ideal for growing excellent grapes that produce wines of high quality. The Galil Yiron 2004 is an excellent choice for kosher wines because it is grown in Upper Galilee, which is considered the best wine region in Israel. The wine is aged for 16 months and has a rich flavor of black cherry and blackberry with herbs, vanilla and oak. Make sure to open your wine early enough to allow breathing. Allow about 15 minutes for each year of age.

Recanati Syrah 2005 is also one of the best kosher wines on the market. Its maker, Leonardo Recanati, has an Italian heritage that is the source of his passion for producing quality wines. Also grown in the region of Upper Galilee first, this wine is made from Shiraz grapes best. It is considered a perfect complement for almost all dishes, especially spicy food, the taste of raspberry and plum with a hint of spice will not be overwhelmed or defeated by one of your food. It is also a wine kosher for Passover perfect!

The Jerusalem Heights Cabrenet-Merlot is aged 18 months in French oak barrels and American. This wine has a lush cherry, chocolate and black pepper with a finish of aromatic spices.

There is a large variety of kosher wines available on the market today, but these products are not only limited to a Jewish clientele. The reason for their popularity is that these wines are made with the strictest care and natural ingredients. Many people today are realizing that kosher items are best for themselves and their families because they are more natural and healthier in general. While all red wines have antioxidant properties that are beneficial for your heart and circulation, kosher wines are the best in everyone and many are discovering this fact.
