Good rehabilitation centers in hospitals?? I have a friend who has agreed to rehab for a long battle with alcohol, the only problem is deciding what kind of program to go. He tried several times AA and outpatient here in MO with little success. It does not go to an AA or 12 step program office. I found many passages such as Malibu, California, and others that offer what they call a "holistic". Does anyone have advice and whether these kinds of places can work??
Just answered a question similar to this. I have a couple of friends who went through rehabilitation (one for drugs, alcohol and the other for mental illness). They used the connection for recovery and they seem to have much success with it and I noticed a significant change with them too.
I agree that the best approach is a detox center in hospitals as they seem to be much more successful than AA or outpatient.
As a good friend of former addicts, I know how much this means to you that I definitely recommend checking the connections of recovery. I found their "rehabilitation of alcohol" online section so I'll leave a link for it in the Source section. I wish you good luck and good friend I hope he gets the help they need.
There are several kinds of detox programs and outpatient follow-up, including intensive outpatient, individual outpatient weekly and bi-weekly sessions and group therapy.
