Southcoast recovery is now accredited as a provider of continuing education by CANDO, California Association of Alcohol and Drug Educators. recovery professionals work hard. Counseling
Individual counseling is what differentiates Southcoast Recovery Drug Treatment apart. Our clients work extensively with a clinical psychologist, marriage and family therapist and addiction counselors and alcohol treatment in one-on-one sessions and group modules. Based on an initial assessment of mental health, we develop and implement a drug treatment plan customized specifically tailored to individual needs and goals for long-term success.
What CAAD?
CANDO is working with the California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs to develop guidelines for alcohol and drug studies in higher education. The objective is to establish and maintain a higher level of education for excellence in advising.

CAAD offers certification for those interested in becoming certified Addiction Counsellor (CISC). Requirements for CATC requires 36 hours of semester units at an accredited college CAAD, passing an examination and continuing education in the field. These requirements ensure a quality education for the quality of advisers in the field. For initial certification, please visit the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Educators.
Continuing education requirements
To maintain current certification, members are required to obtain 40 hours of training every two years to renew their certification. A minimum of 20 hours is required for the advanced treatment and drug abuse and alcohol counseling. The remaining 20 hours may be in the field of career development.
