Canadian Drinking Water Standards

Is it comparable to Canadian standards?

There is nothing wrong with that. If there was, it would be world news.

~ Well, when I went to Japan, women who came with me (she is born and raised in Japan <<<if I tend to believe her when she told me stuff_haha), she said many things anywhere you go in Japan (I think she was mostly referring to Tokyo where we were), water is a good thing (I guess the difference of the "U.S.", where she currently lives).
~ So do not worry about the water used to kill you <<<and it wont funky taste (I tasted the tap water ... not bad ... tastes better than water where I live ...).

I do not know about Canadian standards, but do not worry about diarrhea.
But many Japanese are buying bottled water now.
sick easily when you travel.
If you feel a strong concern for the water you better buy a bottle.
