Binge Drinking In Scotland

Most of my friends getting drunk regularly, and I think it's terrible. They are adults and they should know what is happening in the world around them. They should know that binge drinking is nothing to be proud. Yet they go to pubs and get drunk. Nobody thinks this is strange? They do not seem to be ashamed of themselves, thus contributing to the shameful statistics. I think doing something like that, you know that your country is to put to shame, is abnormal.

I could not agree with you. I've never seen anything like it until I came to Great Britain. im afraid you're world famous for it. but it is good to know there are beautiful and intelligent young people like you. :))

Ok, this is nothing to be proud, but he did not always something to be ashamed of either. You said nothing about them doing anything to harm or disturb anyone else, so assuming they are not, what is wrong with them having a Bevvie few?

In my case, people can do whatever they want as long as they do not harm anyone else. I had a little tonight, and the only person who will suffer, it's me when I wake up with a headache. So no, I do not think it's weird or shameful for my country.

Not just in Scotland but in England, Wales and Ireland. its more a cultural thing. We in Scotland to go out and drink for the sole reason of being lost, and everyone thinks thats normal. where, like many other countries people drink more moderately and understanding. I read an article recently that the English have infact said (contrary to popular belief) the largest UK drinkers.

The Germans and Russians are also heavy drinkers.

people have fun with a drink and then, some people can lead a stressful life and need a good blow to the old once a week, what's so important that they do not care very people, living a bit of your self and stop trying to influence others to your way boring.

but are they going out and drinking every night? cause if so then yes that could be a problem ... but if they do it every weekend so I do not think is as much a problem.

Maybe strange to other countries that arent in the civilazation West, but everyone is quite common and expected.

Depends on age are your friends. If they are 20 and 30 years after by just about everywhere for the course. If they are 40 which is lame. Do you think some of them may have real problems?
