What is the difference between a beer and wine and spirits liensce? I'm just curious as I live in Kentucky and I was wondering cider can be sold at a store that is authorized to sell beer only, or do you have a wine license to sell spirits and cider in Kentucky?
Not 100% on KY, but I know that generally, there is a license for beer and wine, and another for alcohol. As another poster said, it has much to do with the difference in alcohol content liquor vs beer alcohol and less wine.
Cider is technically in the category of wines. If you have the standard licenses most states do (beer and wine are the norm, with an additional lic for spirits), then you are selling hard cider.
Check with the Liquor Commission of Kentucky (or whatever the specific name of the Regulatory Commission of your state is). They will have details.
Cheers.
Do you mean cider? The differance in the permit is in evidence. Wine and beer are lower proof alcohol and then say JD or rum.
