Is Hair Alcohol Testing Safe?

Hair alcohol testing is a relatively new form of screening for drugs and alcohol, but with all other forms of testing there, how does it compare Is it safe?
 
How does it work?
A small sample of hair are taken from the scalp, it is usually just below the scalp near the hairline. Then it undergoes a patented process using a legal chromatograph search for liquid ethyl ether fatty acid, or FAEE and ethyl glucuronide, or markers CTAS. These markers are only produced when alcohol in the bloodstream. The more alcohol a person consumes the largest amount of FAEE and EtG markers are present in the hair.
